Egon Pfefferle was a man of many ideas, full of energy and zest for action. Until his death in July 2012, he managed the fortunes of hatec Gesellschaft für Lichttechnik mbH. In 1989 he founded the company – even though he came from a completely different direction in his career.

Light has always fascinated him, and so his sons Andreas and Heribert Pfefferle can now proudly look to their company, which is the largest employer in Münstertal / Black Forest and sells its products throughout Germany and parts in other European countries. The two have always stayed on the carpet and are aware of their responsibility for their more than 70 employees: "We are a solid, medium-sized company and we produce quality, not mass.", Says managing director Andreas Pfefferle.

Stability and innovation for the future

In 2025, the Waldmann Group took over hatec. This brings together two family businesses from the Black Forest that stand for quality, innovation and reliability.

“When it became clear to us that we didn't want to pass on this responsibility within the family again, the opportunity arose for Waldmann,” say the Pfefferle brothers - Managing Directors of hatec.

Together, Waldmann and Hatec are setting new standards for maximum effectiveness in the lighting industry - made in Black Forest, made in Germany.

We produce our lights in Münstertal – a place in the southern Black Forest where many people go on vacation. The view of nature in the immediate vicinity inspires us anew every day.

The majority of our lights are manufactured on site.
In order to fulfill the diverse tasks, designers, technicians and project managers work hand in hand with us in the planning and conception of lighting solutions, the production of profiles, the assembly and installation of components such as the optics and the fitting of light sources through to shipping and the installation of the lights on site.

Thanks to these short distances, we work efficiently, customer-oriented and sustainably.

The company RGB Coating – a brand of the hatec GmbH – supports the work for a completely perfect product in powder coating of metal parts and sandblasting of the surfaces.
